Nails from the last few weeks....

Hi again,

It's been a while - been busy organsining my next job and sleeping in :)

Here's my nails from the last few weeks.

I found this silver polish the other day, after being sick of having to paint on 3 plus coats of my silver glitter and having it chip after a day.  Then to make it ever better, I discovered that it stamps perfectly - yay for another stamping colour.  It's Posh Polish by beauty UK, Olympic Silver no. 2.

I then decided to paint each nail a different colour and stamp it with silver.

I used essence Miami Roller Girl in Four Wheel Drive pink, green from the faceshop (in Korea), La Femme Beauty in blue & Hot Looks in Hip Hop orange.

I used BM-322 from Bundle Monsters 2012 collection.

Orange on my thumb, Green on my middle finger.

Blue on my pointer & ring finger and Pink on my little finger.

Next up it was time for Easter nails, I used some of the same colours.

The Faceshop green, Miami Roller Girl in Pink, Miss Sporty in Yellow and Konad Special Polish in Black.

I used the Faceshop green as the base coat, Konad special polish in Black for stamping and dotted with the yellow & pink.

I used the bunny outline stamp for most nails and dotted ontop.

For my accent nails (on my ring fingers), I used the bunny and egg stamp with dots around the outside.

I used BM-302 plate.

The most recent set of nails I've done is for my leaving party, I went for sparkly and simple.

I used Nails inc. special effects in marylebone as the base coat and Konad Special Polish in Black for stamping.

I used BM-313 for the stamp - it came out looking like dinosaur eggs, which I thought looked kinda cool :)

Hope you liked them all,
till next manicure

St Patrick's Day 2013.....

Hi all

Time for another blog post - this time it's St Patrick Day nails, a great excuse to try out some of the 2012 Bundle Monster plates that I've been neglecting.

I didn't really have a particular pattern/colour scheme for this mani - just green and to include a 4 leaf clover somewhere.

I ended up using a few greens, white and even a silver (I know gold is more traditionally associated with St Paddy's Day but I'm a silver person!).

I used Cosmiss in White (doubles as my stand in white stamping polish, got it cheap from a subway station in Budapest), La Femme Beauty in emerald (from kraudvat), Nails Inc in Burton Mews (from Debhams, not a cheap polish!), unbranded silver glitter (from a cheap, discount store as a 3 pack) & Konad Special Polish in White.

Here's the final result.

I used a different base polish on every nail apart from my little finger and middle finger.

For my pointer finger I used the lighter green as a base coat then stamped a mini clover looking pattern over top, using the Nail's Inc as a stamping polish (worked pretty well). Plate: BM-214.

For the middle finger I used the Nail's Inc polish for the base coat and Konad special polish in White.  Plate: BM-316.

For my ring finger I used the unbranded silver glitter polish for the basecoat and stamped with the Nail's Inc green polish again (came out 2 different colours on each hand, think I managed to get more polish on the second time I stamped). Plate: BM03.

For my thumbs, used the Cosmiss white for the basecoat and a Celtic looking pattern stamped in the Nail's Inc polish yet again. Plate: BM-222

For my Pinkie, I used some nail jewels from Holland. I have a set of 8 tiny bottles and chose the 'cloverish' looking green ones. I made a simple line down each nail, as they are quite large and tend to catch on everything!

And how it looked.

And my mani from another angle:

Hope you like it - I had fun doing it.  Can't wait for Easter!

Till next mani,

This weeks nails and a few other designs from recently...

Hi all

So am back from my mini road trip down South to finish out a busy week of work (and packing) before moving on to a friends place. But I've still found time to do my nails, of course! Went for simplicity and wanted an image from the 2013 Bundle Monster plates - havn't had much of a chance to play around with them yet.

Picked purple for my colours - going with Barry M Chameleon for the base coat & Klean colour mini in Metallic Purple for the stamping.

I then used the cute smilies from the collection (BM-304)

And the final product:

Quite proud of myself, starting to get neater with my basecoat painting :D

Only thing was can't put on a top coat - attempted after these pics and both my clears changed the basecoat colour to dark purple and smudged the smilies. Guess thats what I get for using a polish taht changes colour in hot and cold haha.

Here's a few more pics.

Base colour before stamping (looks more silver than purple, must be because hands are warm for once!)

Other hand.

And here's a roller derby mani I did for a game the other month - got a lot of comments from my fellow BRDG league members :D

I did the following on each finger:

Pivot stripe on Ring finger (had to make my own 'stamp', used double layer of cellotape on the back of a plate to create a stripe).

Freehanded a roller skate on my middle finger.

Lightening bolts on my pinkie, just cause they are cool :D (BM-305)

A Jammer star on my pointer. (BM05)

And on my thumb stamped the word Derby. (m18 & m17)

And a pic at the actual bout (we were sitting in the suicide seats for the first game;)

Hope you liked them.
Till next week.

Bye Bye Gelish, French & Blue starred...

Last week I decided the Gelish on my nails had run its course - manly due to the fact I couldn't type properly and I scratched a customer at work the other night - oops :P Here's a few shots of how far it grew out - pretty impressive length for me espically with working, it lasted over 8 weeks so really pleased with it.
And after an hour or two I was back to natural nails - abet very long natural nails.

I then filed them to non-customer-scratching length and added a base coat to get them looking a wee bit healthier.

Then attempted a french manicure with some glitter thrown on for fun (I am usually pretty bad at these, but was impressed this time).  Glitter was a cheap polish from the faceshop and white was part of a french manicure set I'd never used.

I then quickly got bored with this (plus it chipped within a day at work, gotta love the fast food industry and washing your hands every 5 mins) and did a bright blue number.

Using plates BM05 & BM20 (both the star patterns). Also tried entering this in the Bundle Monster competition to win the 2012 plates but sadly couldn't compete with those who had 1000's of votes from their blogs. Oh well maybe next time :)

Till next post,
