Nails from the last few weeks....

Hi again,

It's been a while - been busy organsining my next job and sleeping in :)

Here's my nails from the last few weeks.

I found this silver polish the other day, after being sick of having to paint on 3 plus coats of my silver glitter and having it chip after a day.  Then to make it ever better, I discovered that it stamps perfectly - yay for another stamping colour.  It's Posh Polish by beauty UK, Olympic Silver no. 2.

I then decided to paint each nail a different colour and stamp it with silver.

I used essence Miami Roller Girl in Four Wheel Drive pink, green from the faceshop (in Korea), La Femme Beauty in blue & Hot Looks in Hip Hop orange.

I used BM-322 from Bundle Monsters 2012 collection.

Orange on my thumb, Green on my middle finger.

Blue on my pointer & ring finger and Pink on my little finger.

Next up it was time for Easter nails, I used some of the same colours.

The Faceshop green, Miami Roller Girl in Pink, Miss Sporty in Yellow and Konad Special Polish in Black.

I used the Faceshop green as the base coat, Konad special polish in Black for stamping and dotted with the yellow & pink.

I used the bunny outline stamp for most nails and dotted ontop.

For my accent nails (on my ring fingers), I used the bunny and egg stamp with dots around the outside.

I used BM-302 plate.

The most recent set of nails I've done is for my leaving party, I went for sparkly and simple.

I used Nails inc. special effects in marylebone as the base coat and Konad Special Polish in Black for stamping.

I used BM-313 for the stamp - it came out looking like dinosaur eggs, which I thought looked kinda cool :)

Hope you liked them all,
till next manicure

This weeks nails and a few other designs from recently...

Hi all

So am back from my mini road trip down South to finish out a busy week of work (and packing) before moving on to a friends place. But I've still found time to do my nails, of course! Went for simplicity and wanted an image from the 2013 Bundle Monster plates - havn't had much of a chance to play around with them yet.

Picked purple for my colours - going with Barry M Chameleon for the base coat & Klean colour mini in Metallic Purple for the stamping.

I then used the cute smilies from the collection (BM-304)

And the final product:

Quite proud of myself, starting to get neater with my basecoat painting :D

Only thing was can't put on a top coat - attempted after these pics and both my clears changed the basecoat colour to dark purple and smudged the smilies. Guess thats what I get for using a polish taht changes colour in hot and cold haha.

Here's a few more pics.

Base colour before stamping (looks more silver than purple, must be because hands are warm for once!)

Other hand.

And here's a roller derby mani I did for a game the other month - got a lot of comments from my fellow BRDG league members :D

I did the following on each finger:

Pivot stripe on Ring finger (had to make my own 'stamp', used double layer of cellotape on the back of a plate to create a stripe).

Freehanded a roller skate on my middle finger.

Lightening bolts on my pinkie, just cause they are cool :D (BM-305)

A Jammer star on my pointer. (BM05)

And on my thumb stamped the word Derby. (m18 & m17)

And a pic at the actual bout (we were sitting in the suicide seats for the first game;)

Hope you liked them.
Till next week.

Once Upon a Time Challenge - Day 8 The Princess....

Hi all

Day 8 of the Once Upon A Time Challenge today and the theme is The Princess. Naturally I went for Pink, crowns & royalty inspired designs. The particular Princess I was thinking of was Snow and her quest for True Love (as long and rocky as it has been, she's always stuck to it and finding her true love).

For colours I used essence Miami Roller Girl (which I brought in Salzburg simply because it said Roller Girl and appealed to me as a Roller DERBY Girl haha), Konad Special Polish in White & a cheap nail art pen in Black from the Face Shop in Korea.

And here is the final result:

Left Hand (this is the only pic that shows the true colour of the polish, think the Camera didn't like the late night shots). Plates: m61 & BM-215. Plus nail art pen for the dots.

Right Hand - played around with a few more designs off the OMG Salon Pro 4 plate including the Crown & Head shot of girl. Also used Konad for the lace. Plates: OMG Salon Pro 4 & m71.

But the left hand was definitely my favourite :)

Hope you all enjoyed this mani, make sure you check out the other girls mani's and blogs.

Till next challenge,
Nikki x

Once Upon a Time Challenge - Day 5 True Loves Kiss....

Hi again
Today is day 5 of the Once Upon a Time Challenge with the subject being True Love's Kiss (if you're addicted to the show like me, you'd know there was a whole episode based around it featuring Mary Margret and Charming). Today is also Valentines day so Happy Valentines to you all and hope you're getting something nice from an admirer:)

As I was thinking about what I would do, the colour pink is the first thing that came to mind. Luckily I have a few to choose from.  The colours I used were:

Klean Colour Metallics (mini) in Metallic Pink (Postie Plus in New Zealand), Cosmiss fashion colour 006 in white (from a cheap subway shop in Prague) & Konad Special Polish in White.

I've put a different stamp on each finger, with my thumbs with a white as a base coat and stamping with the metallic pink (best thing about these Klean colours, they work as normal or stamping polish).

I went with a dancing couple on my pinkie - usually in fairytales the couple in True Love get a dance as well as a kiss:) Plate: OMG Nails Salon Pro 4.

My ring finger was lips - stamped twice.  I've re-stamped the bottom lips, but not the top - see what my stupid top coat did :(. Plate: BM02

Middle finger was the world love with two mini hearts.  Plate: M18 & BM09.

Pointer finger was a simple rose, like what beauty was holding when Phillip awoke her with a kiss.  Plate: B41 (random knock off).

And lastly my thumbs are a whole nail heart pattern.  Plate: BM-317.

I was all done, looking good (nice and pink;) when I added the top coat forgetting one thing - the pink tends to bleed! My white faded to a hot pink - still able to be seen but not as much of a pop as I liked! Luckily I was able to re-add the stamps on top - hardest thing was lining them up.

Hope you like the final product (I'm such a sucker for pink, I keep seeing them out of the corner of my eye when I'm doing things hehe) and make sure you check out the nails from the other bloggers doing the challenge :)

Till next challenge

Nearly a month...

So yet again i've been a bit slack with the blog - mainly because I've finally started to organise my travel plans & work has been super busy.

To make up for it I have included shots of my ENTIRE nail polish collection after my manicure for the week.  The hardest thing was fitting all the polishes in the shot & it appears I have almost 80 polishes... that number seems to have snuck up on me ;)

Anyway my manicure this week (well technically 3 weeks ago) used one of new scented polishes by BYS.

It was pretty cheap at postie plus ($4.99) & does actually smell quite nice (even through 2 coats of top coat).  As you can see from the picture, its inventively called 'Scented Bright Red'.

For the design I used Bundle Monster Plate BM03 from their original set of plates.

I chose the fern pattern in the middle left.

Using Konad special polish in White.

And added some diamantes for some bling/sparkle.

The finished result.

Simiple but pretty was the look I was aiming for.

Now for my nail polishes.  Here's the shot of the entire collection:

I even colour co-ordinated them (mainly because I was trying to buy more online & needed to make sure I didn't already have that colour:)

And here are the polishes by colour.

So as you can see I have a whole heap of combinations left to choose from :)

Have a great week
